Controversy arose over the early distribution of exam papers during the Yonsei University early admission essay test at one examination site, leading to concerns about question leakage.
According to Yonsei University on the 13th, it was confirmed that the exam papers for the 2025 early admission natural sciences essay test, held the previous day at Yonsei University in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, were distributed about an hour before the exam started. The exam was scheduled to run for 90 minutes from 2 p.m., but at one test site, the papers were handed out earlier, around 12:55 p.m. The proctor at that site realized the mistake about 25 minutes later and retrieved the exam papers.
Some posts on online communities claimed that questions were leaked online because the exam papers were distributed before collecting students' mobile phones.
A Yonsei University official stated, "The early distribution of exam papers was clearly a mistake," but added, "We are investigating whether any questions were leaked, but so far, nothing has been confirmed." The university admissions office reportedly held a meeting that day to discuss the matter.
There was also an error discovered in the exam questions during the essay test. In questions 4-2, the symbol 'a' was mistakenly marked as 'b,' prompting the school to announce the correction during the exam and extend the test time. The university explained, "After confirming the error, we notified the correction 30 minutes before the exam ended and extended the exam time by 20 minutes for all test takers."
