Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 11th that it has launched the "Lifelong Education Program Support Project for Individuals with Borderline Intellectual Functioning" for the first time this year.
Individuals with borderline intellectual functioning (slow learners) refer to people who have difficulties in peer relationships, daily life, and social adaptation due to limited cognitive and learning abilities.

A Pocheon City official stated, "In line with the Pocheon City Ordinance on Lifelong Education Support for Individuals with Borderline Intellectual Functioning enacted in April last year, we will strive to revitalize lifelong education for individuals with borderline intellectual functioning who are in educational and welfare blind spots," adding, "We will continue to provide support to improve social awareness of individuals with borderline intellectual functioning."
