Novelist Han Kang has been selected as the Nobel Prize in Literature laureate, while Jung Yura, the daughter of Choi Soon-sil (renamed Choi Seo-won), claimed that his work is a "novel written with historical distortion."

On the 11th, Jung Yura posted on her social networking service (SNS), "My child is sick, so I don't care about the Nobel Prize or anything," but she added, "I feel uneasy because the right-wing also seems to view it positively, saying that since there hasn't been a Nobel Prize before, we should be thankful, just because it is a novel that supports the April 3rd and May 18th incidents." She continued, "The Nobel Prize is not something that stands on history," and said, "I don't know if the Nobel Prize received for a novel written with distorted history has any meaning."

She then stated, "Originally, the left is emotional and not rational," and "I think that is the biggest difference between the right and the left." She also said, "No matter what award is received, distortion is distortion," and questioned, "Is it normal for a country where the list of merit recipients, which still cannot be disclosed, becomes a country where those who demand the disclosure of the list are called killers?" Jung Yura emphasized, "It is illogical to criticize Kim Dae-jung's Nobel Peace Prize while defending Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature," and said, "What is the biggest reason we hate the left? Meanwhile, Jung Yura is the daughter born between Jung Yoon-hoe and Choi Soon-sil and a former national equestrian athlete. She is known as one of the key figures involved in the state affairs manipulation scandal during the Park Geun-hye administration.
