Shares related to publishing are soaring following the news that Korean author Han Kang has won the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Hansae Yes24 Holdings recorded 6,380 KRW at 3:17 PM on the 11th, up 1,465 KRW (29.81%) compared to the previous trading day. Along with this, Yes24, Company K, and Yerimdang also hit the upper price limit.

Additionally, Millie's Library (23.49%), Samsung Publishing (16.41%), Woongjin (7.26%), and Woongjin Think Big (16.70%) all showed strong gains.

The Swedish Academy announced the selection of Han Kang as this year’s Nobel Prize in Literature laureate the day before.

Following the announcement of Han Kang’s Nobel Prize in Literature award, orders for her works surged, causing some book distribution companies’ websites to crash.

In the case of Yes24, all of the top 10 spots on the real-time bestseller list were filled with Han Kang’s works. Additionally, some titles such as The Vegetarian and Human Acts switched to pre-order sales.
