A story has been shared about a woman who broke off her engagement due to harsh words from her prospective mother-in-law during a formal meeting.

On the 8th, an online community Nate Pann posted a story titled "My boyfriend's mother who said my mom has a tragic fate." The author, Ms. A, began by saying, "We broke off the engagement after the formal meeting. I'm still angry, so I wanted to write this where many people can see it."

Ms. A recently received a proposal from her boyfriend, who is the same age of thirty, and they planned to have a formal meeting. She explained, "(Both my boyfriend and I) do not have fathers. My boyfriend's parents divorced due to his father's infidelity, and my father passed away when I was three years old."

However, the problem occurred during the formal meeting. The prospective mother-in-law said to Ms. A's mother, "I heard daughters resemble their mothers' fate, so I didn't want to send my son away because I feared he might have a short life." She added, "There is no parent who can beat their child, so I decided to accept everything. She raised her child alone from a young age and truly has a tragic fate."

After hearing these harsh words from the prospective mother-in-law, Ms. A stormed out of the meeting. However, her boyfriend reportedly said, "Ms. A is the strange one." Ms. A complained, "(My boyfriend) said he was just worried and that your mother must have had a hard life, so why are you like this? I really regret the time I spent with someone like this."
