Yeosu Coast Guard Holds 'Communication and Harmony' Event with Retired Senior Police Officers

Sharing Development and Policy Directions for Current and Former Maritime Police Operations

Yeosu Maritime Police Station (Chief Choi Kyung-geun) announced, "We have created a place for communication and harmony where current and former police officers gathered in one place to share policies such as ways to develop maritime police work."


According to Yeosu Maritime Police, at around 11 a.m. on the 11th, retired police officers who are maritime police seniors and members of the public were invited to the police station meeting room to have time to communicate and interact with current police officers.

This communication meeting inviting retired police officers was prepared to listen to the valuable opinions of seniors, such as their experience and know-how, in the development of maritime police work, and to communicate and harmonize with the spirit of Sang-gyeong-ha-ae (上敬下愛) through meetings between seniors and juniors.


In addition, while sharing development plans and policy directions for the maritime police, ways of cooperation between the Retired Police Officers Association and Yeosu Maritime Police were explored, and matters related to regional community development and maritime safety were also discussed.


Seo Rae-su, president of the Retired Police Officers Association, said, "It was a good time to communicate with juniors as a member of the public and a retired senior," and added, "I hope that my experience and knowledge will help the maritime police develop even a little."


Choi Kyung-geun, chief of Yeosu Maritime Police Station, said, "It was a meaningful time to hear the valuable opinions of senior officers," and added, "We will actively reflect on them to develop the maritime police and do our best to create a safe and clean sea."
