Tied 29th on Day One of Black Desert Championship
Svensson Leads, McCarthy and Nolanders Tied for 2nd

On the 10th (local time), at the Black Desert Resort Golf Course (par 71, 7,371 yards) in Ivins, Utah, USA, Lee recorded four birdies without any bogeys in the first round of the PGA Tour Black Desert Championship (total prize money $7.5 million). He made birdies on holes 2, 6, and 9 in the front nine to reduce his score by three strokes, then added another birdie on the 17th hole (par 3) in the back nine. He is tied for 29th place (4-under 67). Due to sunset, about 20 players were unable to finish their rounds.
This tournament is the third of eight fall series events to determine PGA Tour participants for next season. Players must finish within the top 125 in the FedEx Cup rankings by the end of the fall series to qualify for next year’s PGA Tour events. Lee Kyoung-hoon currently ranks 101st in the FedEx Cup standings.
Adam Svensson (Canada) surged to the top of the leaderboard with an 11-under 60. He recorded one eagle and nine birdies. Since winning the 2022 RSM Classic, he has yet to add another victory. Matt McCarthy (USA) and Henrik Norlander (Sweden) are tied for second place at 9-under 62, two strokes behind, engaging in a chase.
Kim Sung-hyun, ranked 119th in the FedEx Cup, made six birdies but also recorded one double bogey and one bogey, finishing tied for 42nd place (3-under 68). No Seung-yeol, returning to the PGA Tour after about two months, made four birdies but also had one double bogey and two bogeys, failing to lower his score. He is tied for 100th place (even par 71).
