Hyundai Ezwel, a total welfare solution company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 11th that it received the Minister of Environment Commendation in the green consumption category at the ‘2024 Green Technology Promotion and Consumption Activation Government Awards.’
The Green Technology Promotion and Consumption Activation Government Awards recognize individuals, companies, and institutions that have contributed to national and social development, such as spreading carbon-neutral lifestyle practices. The awards have been hosted by the Ministry of Environment and organized by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute annually since 2008.
A Hyundai Ezwel official stated, “We were honored to receive the Minister of Environment Commendation in recognition of our efforts to promote green consumption, including operating a specialized green product section in a shop-in-shop format within our country’s largest welfare point-based online mall, serving over 3 million customers from more than 2,500 client companies.”
In March, Hyundai Ezwel signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute to promote the online distribution and expansion of green products, becoming the first welfare mall in the industry to be designated as an ‘Online Green Store.’ A Green Store is a location designated by the Ministry of Environment that encourages customers’ eco-friendly consumption habits and contributes to the activation of green product sales.
Recently, Hyundai Ezwel expanded and reorganized the ‘Re.Green’ section, a specialized green product zone within the welfare mall, which was first introduced in 2022 as the industry’s first. The product range has been broadened to include not only eco-certified products but also domestic and international upcycling brand products, zero-waste products, low-carbon products, and excellent recycled products (GR).
To raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection and the excellence of eco-friendly products, Hyundai Ezwel has also conducted the ‘Eco-friendly Donation Challenge with Customers.’ This event is a customer participation eco-friendly activity where Hyundai Ezwel accumulates 1,000 KRW per order of products labeled ‘Re.Green’ and uses the accumulated funds to purchase eco-friendly products from small and medium-sized enterprises to give to customers.
A Hyundai Ezwel official said, “Since 2022, based on Hyundai Department Store Group’s integrated eco-friendly brand ‘Re.Green’ strategy, we have been conducting distinctive eco-friendly management activities reflecting the characteristics of our industry. Going forward, as a leading company in the selective welfare market, we will continue to carry out sincere activities that help establish an eco-friendly consumption culture and support customers’ carbon-neutral practices in their daily lives together with our client companies and partners.”
