The police have decided to conduct a private investigation of Moon Da-hye (41), the daughter of former President Moon Jae-in, who was caught driving under the influence in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
On the 11th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul stated that they are coordinating Moon's police attendance schedule and do not plan to disclose the schedule separately.
The police are considering applying additional charges under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, including reckless driving causing injury or death, against Moon. Reckless driving causing injury or death is punishable by imprisonment for one to fifteen years or a fine ranging from 10 million to 30 million won.
Earlier, on the 5th at around 2:51 a.m., Moon was driving her Casper vehicle in front of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, when she changed lanes and collided with a taxi following behind. The police, who responded to the victim's report and conducted a breathalyzer test, confirmed that Moon's blood alcohol concentration at the time was 0.149%, which is above the license cancellation threshold (0.08%). It was confirmed that there were no passengers in Moon's vehicle at the time of the accident.
