Seoul Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 11th that it will hold the "2024 Gangdong-gu Youth Festival," where various youth performances and experiences can be enjoyed, at the Gangdong-gu Office Open Yard at 1 p.m. on the 19th.

This event is meaningfully planned and promoted overall by the "Youth Festival Planning Team," composed of local child and youth participation organizations and representatives of youth facilities, who directly conducted the subtitle contest of the festival ("The Right to be Protected! The Joy of Participation") and the open recruitment of youth MCs.

Especially this year, the largest number of local youth clubs in history will participate. A total of 21 teams will showcase their talents and skills in diverse fields such as the choir of Myeongil Elementary School, the pungmul club "Jingalmae" of Baejae Middle School, the cheerleading club "We go up" of Gangil High School, as well as bands, dance, and musicals.

On the day of the event, 18 experience booths tailored to the youth's perspective will be operated, including making keyrings by personality type (MBTI), making grip-toks, making frog sandwiches, and firefighter experiences, allowing youth to create special memories. Among them, the sports experience booth in collaboration with the Gangdong-gu Disabled Sports Association will offer experiences that help understand people with disabilities and can be enjoyed by all youth together.

Additionally, an opening ceremony performance on "Children's Rights" and promotional booths for child and youth participation organizations will be operated, providing an opportunity to learn about the rights and autonomous activities of children and youth.

Han Mi-jung, Director of the Gangdong-gu Child and Youth Division, said, "I hope everyone relieves daily stress and creates joyful memories at the Gangdong-gu Youth Festival, full of sights and fun."

The Gangdong-gu Youth Festival, now in its 7th year, is conducted through public-private cooperation with youth facilities and participation organizations such as the Gangdong Municipal Youth Center, Gangdong Cheonho Youth Culture House, and Gangdong Dunchon Youth Culture House, as well as related agencies like Gangdong Police Station and Gangdong Fire Station. It is an event planned and prepared proactively by youth themselves.
