Billboard Korea Published Artbook
Group NewJeans has become the first subject of the art book ‘Billboard Artist’.
On the 10th, Billboard Korea revealed the first cover of ‘Billboard Artist’ featuring NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) through its official SNS.
The members of NewJeans, leaning against a tree in thick smoke, create a dreamy atmosphere that catches the eye. The cover was photographed by Elina Kechicheva, a renowned photographer known for her painterly style.
Launched by Billboard Korea, ‘Billboard Artist’ expresses the inspiration musicians deliver to the public through multi-covers, pictorials, interviews, essays, and visual content. In the first issue, NewJeans is likened to the ‘Paninari,’ a youth culture that greatly influenced popular culture in 1980s Milan, Italy. It also highlights NewJeans’ impact and inspiration on today’s music market and audience through a unique story comparing the value and symbolism of a messenger of sound connecting past, present, and future to a ‘bird.’
Woo Lee, Creative Director of Billboard Korea, said, "NewJeans makes us nostalgic for the past, enjoy the present, and look forward to the future," adding, "It is meaningful to work with NewJeans, who are the most contemporary, spanning various generations, stimulating the sensibilities of different eras, and loved by diverse people, with an even more promising future."
Since debuting in July 2022, NewJeans has been actively advancing, including becoming the fastest overseas artist to perform at Tokyo Dome in just 1 year and 11 months after debut. Recently, they were nominated for the ‘Best K-Pop’ category at the ‘MTV Europe Music Awards,’ Europe’s largest music awards, marking their second consecutive year as nominees.
