Dongducheon-si Wins Grand Prize at 2024 Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Competition

Dongducheon City received the grand prize in the resident participation project category of the "2024 Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Competition" on the 7th, awarded to the Saengyeon 2-dong and Jungang-dong Urban Regeneration Resident Council.

Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 10th that the Saengyeon 2-dong and Jungang-dong Urban Regeneration Residents' Council won the grand prize in the resident participation project category at the '2024 Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Competition' held on the 7th.

This award is highly significant as it marks the second consecutive year of achievement, following the grand prize in the base space category at the '2023 Gyeonggi-do Urban Regeneration Competition.'

The Saengyeon 2-dong and Jungang-dong Urban Regeneration Residents' Council of Dongducheon City presented a project on a meal kit box utilizing local specialty products (Budae-jjigae, Budae stir-fry, and craft beer).

They also focused on structuring it as a profit-generating business through merchant capacity building and resident proposal contests.

Mayor Park Hyung-deok expressed, “I sincerely thank all the citizens who worked hard to revitalize our region,” and added, “We will spare no support to ensure that the meal kit box idea using local specialty products, which won this award, can be implemented.”
