Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok's Congratulatory Letter on 'Pregnant Women's Day'

Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, conveyed congratulatory and supportive messages to pregnant women through a congratulatory letter on the 10th, the '19th Pregnant Women’s Day.'

In the congratulatory letter, Governor Kim stated, “Pregnancy and childbirth signify the birth of new life and are a hope that brightens the future of our society,” adding, “I pledge to take a leading role in sharing the burden of parenting with parents.”

He continued, “There is an African proverb that says, ‘It takes a whole village to raise a child,’” emphasizing, “Careful consideration and protection from the local community for pregnant women and fetuses are urgently needed.”

'Pregnant Women’s Day' was established in 2005 to protect the health of pregnant women and fetuses and to raise awareness of the importance of childbirth and parenting, symbolizing abundance and harvest in October and the 10-month pregnancy period.
