Myeong Taegyun Claims He Played a Role in Mayor Oh's Election Victory

The Seoul Metropolitan Government stated that regarding the allegations of Kim Geon-hee's interference in candidate nominations and the claim by the key figure, political broker Myeong Tae-gyun, of having a close relationship with Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, "They were introduced, but the relationship was not maintained."

A Seoul city official said on the 10th, "Former lawmaker Kim Young-sun introduced (Myeong), and advised maintaining the relationship, but as you know, it was not continued," adding, "(Myeong) must have been quite disappointed."

The official also pointed out, "If conversations that took place in the political sphere, especially during election processes, are exposed, what wouldn't become news?" and added, "It's because of people like this that politics becomes pathetic."

Myeong has recently continued to claim close ties with key figures in the ruling party. In a media interview, he even asserted that he played a significant role in Mayor Oh's election victory in Seoul.

Additionally, former lawmaker Kim, who is the subject of the allegations regarding Kim Geon-hee's interference in candidate nominations, mentioned in a media interview on the same day that she introduced Myeong to Mayor Oh.
