Starting with 8 international routes from Korea
Expansion planned to include outbound routes as well
Korean Air first-class customers will be able to select their in-flight meals up to two months before departure.
On the 10th, Korean Air announced that it will implement an in-flight meal pre-order service for first-class customers on international flights departing from Korea.
The in-flight meal pre-order service allows customers to choose their preferred meal in advance. This system, which had been applied since January 1 of last year to Prestige class passengers on certain international routes, has now been expanded. Customers can request their desired meal menu from 60 days up to 24 hours before the flight departure. The service will be available from 3 p.m. today on the Korean Air website and mobile application (app).
When pre-ordering first-class in-flight meals, customers can select the main course, appetizer, and soup course menus. The process involves first choosing the main course from Korean, Western, or vegetarian options, followed by ordering the corresponding appetizer and soup courses.
The eligible routes include eight routes departing from Korea to Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, Washington D.C. in the United States, Paris in France, London in the United Kingdom, and Frankfurt in Germany. The service is planned to be expanded to flights departing from overseas in the future.
A Korean Air official stated, "With the implementation of the in-flight meal pre-order service, we will provide the best service to first-class international passengers," adding, "It will also help in more stable management of in-flight meal menus."
