Daily Service Resumes Once a Day Starting from the 13th of Next Month
Maintained No. 1 Passenger Share on This Route Since 2014
Air Busan is accelerating the expansion of its Greater China routes by resuming operations on the Busan-Hong Kong route.
Air Busan (CEO Doo Sungkuk) announced on the 10th that it will resume daily flights on the Busan-Hong Kong route, which had been suspended due to COVID-19, starting from the 13th of next month.
The Busan-Hong Kong route departs from Gimhae International Airport at 9:55 PM and arrives in Hong Kong at 12:55 AM the next day (local time). The return flight leaves Hong Kong at 2:05 AM and arrives at Gimhae International Airport at 6:20 AM on the same day. The flight duration is approximately four hours, and an A321 aircraft (195 seats) will be deployed.
Air Busan first launched the Busan-Hong Kong route in May 2011. Entering a market previously dominated by the two major domestic FSCs, Air Busan quickly absorbed passenger demand and ranked first in passenger share on the route in 2014.
Even as other competitors withdrew from the route, Air Busan continued to operate it for the convenience of local residents, until it was forced to suspend operations in February 2020 due to COVID-19. Now, after about 4 years and 9 months, the route is being restored.
Hong Kong is an attractive destination where Eastern and Western cultures coexist due to its historical background, offering both the grandeur of a modern city and the ambiance of the East. It is famous for its dazzling night views and as a shopping mecca, as well as for its diverse culinary scene, including Cantonese cuisine and foods from around the world.
In particular, travelers can reach Macau in less than an hour by ferry, making it easy to plan itineraries that include both destinations. Air Busan is currently the only airline operating flights to Macau from Gimhae Airport, allowing for more convenient and efficient travel planning.
