Handonghun Agrees with "Kim Yeo-sa Should Refrain from Public Activities" Opinion, Saying "I Also Think It's Necessary"

First Official Statement on Yeo-sa's Public Activities

Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, said, "I also think so," in response to demands from some party members that First Lady Kim Keon-hee should refrain from public activities.

On the 9th, Han met with reporters at the election office of Yoon Il-hyun, the candidate for Busan Geumjeong District Mayor, and when asked about reports that pro-Han (Han Dong-hoon) faction lawmakers expressed a wish for Mrs. Kim to limit her activities, he replied, "I did not know what our lawmakers said, but I also think it is necessary." This is the first time Han has expressed his position on Mrs. Kim's public activities.

Regarding the expectation that the prosecution will decide whether to indict Mrs. Kim this week over the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation allegations, Han said, "Isn't it unnecessary to explain about such speculation?"

Meanwhile, through Facebook on the same day, Han criticized the Moon Jae-in administration, calling it "self-harm," whether intentional or due to being deceived, in response to his party member Yoo Yong-won’s suspicion that the actual destruction of the North Korean frontline guard posts (GPs), which were said to have been completely destroyed under the September 19, 2018 inter-Korean military agreement, has not been confirmed.

He pointed out, "On the afternoon of December 12, 2018, then-President Moon Jae-in watched the GP withdrawal verification work in real-time video and even promoted it extensively through the media. In the afternoon, North Korea visited us to verify the demolition of the GPs," adding, "While we closely observed North Korea’s verification, we cannot help but ask whether we observed the process of verifying North Korea, and if we did, whether we did so properly."

He continued, "Peace is not something to be shown but to be protected," emphasizing, "The People Power Party will protect the peace of the Republic of Korea based on strong national security."
