Harris describes Kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping as "people portrayed as dictators and murderers"

On the 8th (local time), Vice President Harris, during a recorded interview on CBS's late-night talk show 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' in New York that evening, responded to a question about the "close relationship between President Xi, Chairman Kim, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orb?n, and former President Donald Trump" by making these remarks.

Regarding the new book by American journalist Bob Woodward, which states that her rival, former President Trump, spoke multiple times with Russian President Vladimir Putin even after leaving office, she said, "I have heard about it but have not read it yet," and criticized again, "He admires so-called strongmen (dictators), and because they flatter him or offer favors, he is played by them."

She also criticized former President Trump again in relation to Woodward's book, which claims that during his tenure, when COVID-19 test kits were scarce in the U.S., Trump sent test kits to President Putin.

She continued, "Think about what it means to send love letters (romantic letters) to Kim Jong-un in addition to this. He thinks they are friends," emphasizing, "What about the American people? They should be your first friends."

Regarding the Gaza Strip war, she said, "We need to negotiate a ceasefire and hostage (release) as soon as possible," adding, "This war must end." Referring to recent reports that "the negotiations are close to being finalized," she said, "Many details have been resolved, but some remain," and "There has been some progress, but it is meaningless until the negotiations are actually concluded, so we should not applaud as if the agreement is near." She also stated, "There is suffering and pain in the region," and "The first thing the U.S. must do is to finalize the negotiations and not give up."
