Georgia, where Atlanta is located, is home to about 100 Korean companies including SK, Hyundai Motor, and LG. It is also a representative region in the U.S. where interest and goodwill toward Korea have been increasing recently.

Delta Air Lines, one of the three major U.S. airlines, increased its direct flights between Atlanta and Incheon to twice daily starting in May. Including Korean Air routes, there are currently three daily flights, making Atlanta a place with very high growth potential in the Korean inbound tourism market.

The roadshow held at Atlanta’s iconic 'Ponce City Market' featured various programs such as a K-pop dance competition and K-food and K-beauty experience events. About 20 companies and organizations participated, including Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, BBQ, Daesang, Lotte Wellfood, and Korean Air.

Jo Hee-jin, head of the Korea Tourism Organization’s Americas Regional Center, said, "Taking this large-scale roadshow as an opportunity, we plan to strengthen networking with the local travel industry and promote various K-culture products to Hallyu enthusiasts to actively attract Korean inbound tourists."

As of the end of August, the number of Americans visiting Korea reached about 860,000, marking a record high with an increase of over 23% compared to the same period last year. The Korea Tourism Organization plans to expand its marketing, which had been focused on the U.S. East and West Coasts, to the southeastern U.S. including Atlanta through this roadshow, further solidifying the growth trend of Korean inbound tourism.
