"Stop the Ban on Porn"… Porn Actors Entering the US Election Scene

Reportedly Contains Anti-Pornography Content in Response to US Heritage Foundation Policy Proposal

Porn stars have entered the U.S. presidential race. They have already spent $100,000 (about 135 million KRW) on advertisements. It is reported that they joined the presidential race in opposition to a 'porn ban' policy proposed by a pro-Republican think tank.

The American daily newspaper The New York Times (NYT) reported on the 7th (local time) that "17 porn actors have launched a $100,000 presidential advertising campaign." The campaign is titled "Hands off my Porn," and the ad targets the Heritage Foundation's collection of policy proposals called "Project 2025."

The Heritage Foundation is a leading conservative think tank in the U.S., and it is reported to have recently published a series of policy proposals in preparation for former President Donald Trump's potential re-election. This proposal is called "Project 2025," and controversy has grown as claims emerged that the policy blueprint includes a "ban on pornography."

Holly Randall, an actress working in the American porn industry, said, "I have been in this industry for 25 years, and our industry has faced many attacks," but warned, "Project 2025 is the most extreme proposal I have ever seen, and voters need to take this threat seriously."

The voter group targeted by the porn actors is young men in their 20s and 30s. They are running their presidential campaign by placing advertisements intensively on adult websites in the U.S. According to the voter survey firm American Life, 44% of men aged 18 to 29 in the U.S. watch pornography.

Regarding this, the NYT analyzed, "The designers of the porn campaign are well aware of public opinion trends. Vice President Kamala Harris is currently trailing former President Trump among male voters, but she has a chance to win among young male groups."

However, it is uncertain whether the blueprint proposed in "Project 2025" will actually be enacted as policy. The NYT pointed out that former President Trump is also distancing himself from the Heritage Foundation. It is said that Trump stated in July, "I know nothing about Project 2025." However, some of his close aides are reported to have participated in creating this blueprint.
