Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, urged that Moon Da-hye, daughter of former President Moon Jae-in, "should take responsibility, apologize, and be punished" regarding her drunk driving incident, and stated that "she should apologize before former President Moon." When asked about the need for an apology from former President Moon, he responded that it was "excessive."

On the 8th, Jo appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said about Moon's drunk driving, "Isn't Moon Da-hye an independent adult?" and added, "She should take responsibility for her wrongdoing. I believe she should be investigated and punished accordingly."

Regarding the host's question that "there are calls for former President Moon Jae-in to take moral responsibility and make a statement since he once called drunk driving a 'murderous act,'" Jo said, "I think that's a bit too much," and insisted, "Moon Da-hye should take responsibility herself and make her own statement." He continued, "If there is a specific time, I believe the president will speak later, but for now, Moon Da-hye herself should apologize and take responsibility first," adding, "The person involved should resolve the issue on their own."

Meanwhile, on the early morning of the 5th, Moon was involved in an accident while driving under the influence in front of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where she changed lanes and collided with a taxi following behind. At the time of the accident, her blood alcohol concentration was 0.14%, exceeding the license cancellation level (0.08% or higher). However, she did not exhibit any abnormal behavior such as refusing the alcohol test, cooperated with the police, and was sent home. Moon is scheduled to appear at the Yongsan Police Station for investigation as early as next week.
