Mapo-gu Supports Food Hygiene Business Facility Improvement with Annual 1-2% Loan

Food Promotion Fund Facility Improvement Loan Program for Food Hygiene Businesses until October 31
Low-interest loans from 20 million to 200 million KRW per purpose and eligibility, with annual rates of 1-2%

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Kang-su) is implementing a low-interest facility improvement loan project using the Food Promotion Fund for food hygiene businesses in the area until October 31.

This loan project has a total scale of 450 million KRW, and depending on the loan target and purpose, businesses can receive loans at low interest rates of 1-2% per annum, ranging from a minimum of 20 million KRW to a maximum of 200 million KRW per business.

Eligible applicants are those who have obtained business permits in Mapo-gu and operate food hygiene businesses such as general and casual restaurants, bakeries, consignment catering businesses, and food manufacturing establishments. However, businesses handling objectionable foods, entertainment bars, karaoke bars, and other businesses selling alcoholic beverages (except for restroom facility improvement funds), and those who have already received and are repaying loans from the Food Promotion Fund are excluded.

There are two types of loans: development funds and facility improvement funds. Development funds are for the operation and facility improvement of exemplary restaurants designated by Mapo-gu, with loans available up to 50 million KRW per business at an interest rate of 2%.

Facility improvement funds support up to 80% of the costs required for improving hygiene levels. For general, casual, bakery, and consignment catering businesses, loans are available up to 100 million KRW at an interest rate of 2%, and for food manufacturing establishments, up to 200 million KRW at 2%. Food service businesses can receive loans up to 20 million KRW at an interest rate of 1% for restroom improvements.

Applicants wishing to apply should contact the Hygiene Division of Mapo-gu Public Health Center to confirm basic information such as fund availability, then prepare the necessary documents including the loan application form and apply for a preliminary loan review at Woori Bank Mapo-gu Office Branch.

Park Kang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, "We hope that food hygiene businesses facing difficulties will find a new turning point in their operations through low-interest loans," and added, "Mapo-gu will continue to prepare various support measures for the recovery of local commercial districts and small business owners."

Applications for the Food Promotion Fund loan are planned to be accepted until the end of October, but since the funds may be exhausted early, applicants are advised to apply promptly.
