The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on the morning of the 8th that North Korea is believed to be floating objects presumed to be balloons carrying anti-South Korean trash.
The JCS stated, "Considering the wind direction, the balloons may move to northern Gyeonggi and the Seoul metropolitan area," and urged caution regarding falling payloads. They also requested that people do not touch fallen balloons and report them to the military or police.
North Korea has launched balloons for two consecutive days, including the previous day. This marks the 26th time this year that North Korea has sent balloons southward.
