A man in his 60s who was punished 25 times for dine-and-dash offenses was sentenced to prison again just 12 days after his release.

On the 7th, Judge Seo Jin-won of the Changwon District Court Criminal Division 6 announced that Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of habitual fraud, was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison. Mr. A was charged with ordering alcohol and food worth a total of 370,000 won at a pub in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, once each in May and June, and then failing to pay the bill.

It is known that he was also indicted for the same crime last year, sentenced to 10 months in prison, and served his sentence. However, he was released at the end of April and was caught by the police for dine-and-dash again just 12 days after his release. It was confirmed that Mr. A has a total of 25 prior punishments, including three recent prison sentences for similar crimes. During the investigation, he stated, "When I drink, I end up going to pubs, and it is difficult not to drink."

The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "It seems difficult to expect improvement in Mr. A's behavior with the same or lower sentence than before," and "He was not forgiven by some of the victims, and the fact that he committed the crime again during the recidivism period makes the blameworthiness high."
