On the 7th (local time), the Israeli military announced that the 91st Division under the Northern Command was additionally deployed to southern Lebanon. The 91st Division is a unit that has been engaged in combat with Hamas in the Palestinian Gaza Strip over the past year.
In a statement on the same day, the Israeli military said, "We carried out a powerful airstrike on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon." It also stated that the previous day, fighter jets bombed Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, as well as weapons storage facilities and launch pads in the south and the Bekaa Valley.
The Israeli military claimed, "Secondary explosions occurred after the attack, confirming the presence of weapons," and added, "Hezbollah hid its command center and weapons under residential buildings in central Beirut, endangering civilians."
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that at least 10 firefighters were killed in southern Lebanon due to the Israeli airstrikes on that day.
Hezbollah continued its attacks against Israel. According to the Jerusalem Post, dozens of Hezbollah rockets were fired into northern Israeli cities such as Haifa and Tiberias from the night before until the morning of the same day, injuring about 10 people.
The Israeli military also announced that two soldiers belonging to the 5515 Special Forces were killed on the Lebanese front that day.
