Namyangju City's Representative Festival, 'Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival' Opens on the 11th Poster of the 38th Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival.

Gyeonggi Namyangju City (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 7th that the 38th Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival will be held for two days from the 11th to the 12th at the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site in Joan-myeon.


The Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival is a festival that modernly inherits the practical learning philosophy and humanistic spirit of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, a UNESCO-designated world commemorative figure. Since 1986, it has been established as Namyangju City's representative festival with history and tradition.


This 38th Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival will be held under the slogan "Bustling Day of Dasan," featuring various programs where visitors can richly experience the life and values of Jeong Yak-yong.


Main programs include △traditional ritual ceremonies ‘Offering Flowers and Tea’ △literary contests and ‘Challenge! Top Scholar’ △Yeoyudang Saenggwa Bang △children's yoga △picture book therapy and other special experience programs.


Experience programs can be pre-registered through the official website of the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival.


Additionally, a ‘Forest Bookstore,’ ‘Yeoyudang Exhibition,’ and ‘Photo Zone’ will be set up, and scientific experiences that provide insight into Jeong Yak-yong’s wisdom, such as Singijeon and Geojunggi, are also prepared.


At the main stage of the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site and the picnic zone located in Dasan Ecological Park, various attractions and entertainment will be offered, including the ‘N-tist Festival’ featuring local artists, storytelling, puppet shows, and classical performances.


A city official stated, “Various experiences and activities are prepared where people can directly feel the life and spirit of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong,” and added, “We ask for the interest and participation of many citizens in the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival, which preserves the history and tradition of Namyangju City.”


Meanwhile, to improve accessibility to the event site this year, a shuttle bus will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., circulating from the Water Garden to Ungilsan Station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line and then to the event site.
