Kim Bong-sik, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, said at a regular press briefing on the 7th, "We have first secured the black box of the taxi involved in the collision with Moon's vehicle, but we have not yet obtained the black box of the Casper vehicle driven by Moon." He added, "We plan to review whether there were any passengers in Moon's vehicle, including the damaged vehicle, as the investigation progresses."

Moon caused a collision with a taxi that was following her while driving a Hyundai Casper after drinking alcohol around 2:50 a.m. on the 5th at the three-way intersection in front of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It is reported that Moon made a left turn toward Exit 1 of Itaewon Station on Seoul Subway Line 6, violating the signal in a lane where only right turns were allowed. The taxi driver sustained minor injuries.

The police are currently coordinating Moon's schedule to appear for questioning. Additional investigations are underway regarding other charges against Moon, such as signal violations and illegal parking, aside from drunk driving. "The report that Moon is scheduled to appear on the 7th is based on media coverage; the exact date has not been finalized," Kim said. "Investigations into other traffic violations besides drunk driving are ongoing."

Furthermore, Moon's blood alcohol concentration at the time was 0.149, which is at the license cancellation level, but it was reported that communication at the scene was not problematic. Commissioner Kim stated, "Moon voluntarily accompanied the police to a nearby police box without any issues," adding, "Identification was confirmed through her driver's license without any detailed statements related to her identity. There are no plans to conduct additional drug tests on Moon."

Meanwhile, the police are continuing investigations into politicians suspected of violating the Public Official Election Act related to the 22nd general election. So far, investigations have been completed for 363 cases involving 550 individuals, with 140 cases involving 208 individuals being referred to prosecution. Commissioner Kim explained, "We plan to complete the investigations before the statute of limitations on October 10," and added, "The investigation into President Yoon Seok-yeol's public discussion on livelihood issues has been completed but has not been referred to prosecution."
