The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Kbiz) will hold the '2024 Small and Medium Business Leaders Forum' from the 8th to the 11th, a 3-night, 4-day event at the Haevichi Hotel Jeju, with around 300 representatives of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from various industries nationwide participating.
This year's '2024 Small and Medium Business Leaders Forum' is a follow-up to the 'Korea Small Business Conference' held in May at the lawn of the Yongsan Presidential Office to support the globalization of SMEs, with the theme "With SMEs to the World! To the Future!".
Marking its 17th edition, the forum will open on the first day with an encouragement speech by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo. On the second day, special lectures aimed at revitalizing the SME economy will be held, including the 'SME Globalization Grand Debate' attended by Kim Seok-ki, Chairman of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, and the Deputy Head of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea; 'Vision and Strategy for the Local Era' by Lee Jung-hyun, Vice Chairman of the Local Era Committee; and 'The 2024 U.S. Presidential Election and Semiconductor Sovereignty' by Park Young-sun, former Minister of SMEs and Startups.
Additionally, top experts from various fields such as Kim Kwan-young, Governor of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province; Um Hong-gil, Executive Director of the Um Hong-gil Human Foundation; actress Shin Ae-ra; Professor Jung Hee-won of Geriatrics at Seoul Asan Medical Center; and social psychologist Heo Tae-gyun will deliver lectures to inspire SME representatives in diverse ways.
Meanwhile, as part of its social contribution activities, the forum will take the lead in fulfilling social responsibility by donating office furniture and food ingredients to a social welfare center located in Seongsanpo, Jeju.
Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of Kbiz, said, "Since its inception in 2007, the Small and Medium Business Leaders Forum has established itself as a prestigious forum that SMEs are eager to attend by setting the agenda of the times. This year's forum, prepared with various lectures and programs under the theme of globalization for SME overseas expansion and the future of Korea's economy, hopes that the attending SME CEOs will seek insightful perspectives along with creating wonderful memories on the beautiful island of Jeju."
