Former President Moon Jae-in's Daughter Dahye Involved in Drunk Driving Accident
Driving Drunk in Early Morning... Continues Criticism of Jeong Yura
"Breaking the Law but Not Turning Right" Sarcastic Remark
Moon Dahye, daughter of former President Moon Jae-in, has caused a stir after being involved in a drunk driving accident in the early hours of the 5th, and Jung Yura, daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil), has joined the controversy. From the 5th, when the drunk driving incident occurred, until the morning of the 7th, Jung has been posting repeatedly on her social media (SNS), criticizing Dahye.
She mocked Dahye for being caught making a left turn from a right-turn lane before the accident, saying, "Moon Dahye’s spirit is to never make a right turn even if breaking the law," and added, "She might have been more sincerely left-wing than expected, a spirit that never makes a right turn even when completely drunk. That is the true spirit of the camp. From today, I will stop making left turns and do P-turns instead."
She also shared opinions from some netizens presumed to be opposition supporters who defended Dahye. The photos she posted included claims from Dahye’s supporters such as, "Usually, in Itaewon, drunk driving checks are not strictly enforced at 3 a.m., so this seems fabricated," and "It looks like she was being followed. Given the stressful situation these days, they followed her 24 hours to catch her in the act."
Referring to former President Moon’s stance during his administration, which defined drunk driving as a murderous act, she harshly criticized the mother and daughter.
Earlier, on the 5th at around 2:51 a.m., Dahye collided with a taxi while changing lanes in front of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon. The blood alcohol concentration test showed Dahye’s level was 0.14%, which is above the license cancellation threshold (0.08%). The taxi driver reportedly sustained minor injuries.
CCTV footage released by multiple media outlets on the day of the incident clearly shows Dahye staggering before getting into the vehicle, driving, and violating traffic laws. The police plan to summon Dahye to the station soon to investigate the accident details more thoroughly.
