Annual Budget Savings of Tens of Billions KRW... Revolutionary Technology Evaluation
Real-time Collection of Sewage Flow and Pollution Levels... Integrated Management at Central Control Center
Namyangju City obtained the patent for the 'Smart Sewage Integrated Control System' on the 2nd, becoming the first in the country to do so. Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 4th that it had obtained the patent for the 'Smart Sewage Integrated Control System' for the first time in Korea on the 2nd. This technology is evaluated as a groundbreaking technology that saves tens of billions of won annually in budget as a 'sewage management system.'
This system collects data such as sewage flow, water level, flow rate, and pollution in real time and manages them integrally at a central control center. Through big data analysis, it detects abnormal signs early, and when problems such as sewage pipe damage occur, it immediately sends an alarm to enable prompt response. It is expected to minimize urban and river environmental damage caused by sewage problems.
In particular, in areas with many aging sewage pipes, it became possible to identify abnormal zones in real time, reducing investigation costs and time, and efficiently utilizing human resources.
Furthermore, the system systematically solves problems such as odor, pollution, and road damage, providing citizens with a clean and safe living environment. As sewage management efficiency improves, it is also expected to have a positive effect on environmental protection.
A city official stated, "This patent is Namyangju City's first step in leading environmental management technology, and we will continue to develop various systems that enhance citizens' convenience and safety by utilizing smart technology." He added, "We plan to continuously promote the introduction of innovative technologies to solve not only sewage but also various urban problems."
The 'Smart Sewage Integrated Control System' presents a new paradigm for sewage management and is expected to establish itself as a model for digital transformation in various urban management fields. The city plans to strengthen cooperation with other local governments and overseas cities to secure competitiveness in the global environmental management market.
