President Yoon Suk-yeol said on the 4th that "the government will also do its best to support the efforts of labor and management" regarding the Economic, Social and Labor Council (ESLC) labor-management-government representatives gathering in one place for the first time in 10 months and declaring a joint effort to create good jobs for future generations.

President Yoon made the remarks after receiving a report from his aides on the results of the ESLC labor-management-government representatives meeting held that morning, according to a written briefing by Presidential Office spokesperson Jeong Hye-jeon.

Earlier, the ESLC held a labor-management-government representatives meeting at the ESLC main conference room in Jongno, Seoul, attended by Kim Dong-myung, chairman of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU), Sohn Kyung-shik, chairman of the Korea Employers Federation (KEF), Kim Moon-soo, Minister of Employment and Labor, and Kwon Ki-seop, chairman of the ESLC.

This was the first labor-management-government four-party representatives meeting in about 10 months since the last closed-door meeting held on December 14 of last year. At the meeting, they reviewed the progress of social dialogue on labor issues such as working hours, retirement age extension, and gap reduction, and discussed future directions.
