Through this U.S. certification acquisition, the Expressway Corporation stated that its technical capabilities have been recognized as an accredited testing institution. In this regard, it signed a business agreement with the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI), laying the groundwork for continuous technical exchange and cooperation with the top research institution in the field of road safety facilities in the United States. It is also expected to greatly contribute to the overseas market expansion of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises.

Road safety facilities, such as vehicle guardrails and impact absorption devices, are required in most countries overseas to use products whose performance has been verified through physical crash tests certified by the U.S. or Europe. The Expressway Corporation conducts physical crash tests to verify domestic road safety facilities and has been conducting European standard certification (CE) tests for domestic companies since 2011.

Jo Nam-min, President of the Road Traffic Research Institute, said, "Small and medium-sized enterprises can now obtain U.S. and European standard certifications domestically without having to go abroad, significantly reducing time and costs," adding, "We will continue to strive to support domestic companies' overseas expansion."
