Daehan Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. announced on the 4th that it has signed two contracts with Singapore PowerAssets Limited (SP PowerAssets Limited) for the supply and installation of 400kV ultra-high voltage power grids worth a total of 840 billion KRW.

Among the two contracts, the NDC373 project amounts to approximately 500 billion KRW, marking the largest scale of ultra-high voltage AC transmission network exports ever made from South Korea. It is also the largest project Daehan Electric Wire & Cable has secured both domestically and internationally.

The project Daehan Electric Wire & Cable secured is a mega project to build a 400kV ultra-high voltage underground power grid, the highest voltage used locally, throughout Singapore. This has been prepared by Singapore PowerAssets for a considerable period to stably respond to the rapidly increasing power demand due to the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) and data centers. Daehan Electric Wire & Cable plans to carry out the project in a full turnkey manner, handling everything from power grid design to production, laying, connection, and testing.

Since ensuring stability is the top priority for the 400kV full turnkey project, a thorough evaluation across all areas such as quality, technology, engineering capabilities, and project management skills must be conducted when selecting a company. In particular, this project involves tunnel sections, making construction difficult, so a comprehensive and meticulous evaluation was conducted, and Daehan Electric Wire & Cable was selected as a qualified company in competition with leading global firms.

Following the successful completion of 400kV projects in Singapore in 2016 and 2022, Daehan Electric Wire & Cable has now secured this contract, becoming the only Korean company to participate in all 400kV full turnkey projects conducted in Singapore.
