Paju-si, 28th Senior Citizens' Day Ceremony... 43 Meritorious Persons Awarded Paju City held the 28th Senior Citizens' Day ceremony on the 2nd at the Citizens' Hall Grand Theater, organized by the Paju Branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association.

On the 4th, Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it held the 28th Senior Citizens' Day ceremony on the 2nd at the Grand Performance Hall of the Citizens' Hall, organized by the Korea Senior Citizens Association Paju Branch.


The city selects exemplary seniors and contributors to senior welfare around October 2nd, Senior Citizens' Day, every year to commend them, and holds a commemorative ceremony to reflect on gratitude and respect for the elderly.


This year's ceremony was attended by 500 people, including Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju, National Assembly members Yoon Hoo-duk and Park Jung, Park Dae-sung, Chairman of the Paju City Council, heads of related organizations, and heads of senior centers, and was held in two parts.


The first part included the awarding of commendations to contributors to senior welfare and the commemorative ceremony, while the second part featured performances by Paju City ambassadors such as singer Seo Hyang, traditional dance, Korean traditional music, and belly dance.


Following this, commendations were awarded to 43 individuals and groups, including exemplary seniors who have continued to enhance the rights of the elderly and volunteer activities in the region, contributors to senior welfare, and filial sons and daughters.


Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju, said, "Paju City will remember and inherit the history achieved by our elders," adding, "We will make our city a 'basic society leading city' where all citizens enjoy a dignified life, and make it an even better city for our elders, who are at the center of this."
