Yeongdeok County Opens "International H Wellness Festa 2024"

128 Korean Medicine and Ayurveda Specialists Participate
Establishing Itself as a Wellness Hub ... Held from October 3 to 6

The opening ceremony of the "Yeongdeok International H Wellness Festa 2024," jointly hosted by North Gyeongsang Province and Yeongdeok County and organized by the Yeongdeok Culture and Tourism Foundation, was held on October 3 at the Goraebul National Campsite.

The event was attended by Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of North Gyeongsang Province; Kim Kwangyeol, Mayor of Yeongdeok County; Park Hyungsoo, National Assembly member (Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongdeok, Uljin); Park Seongman, Chairman of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Council; Kim Seongho, Chairman of the Yeongdeok County Council; as well as other dignitaries, local residents, and tourists, making for a lively occasion.


This festival laid the foundation for an international wellness event, with participation from prestigious organizations such as the Association of Korean Medicine, the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, the Indian Association of Ayurveda Doctors, the University of Delhi, and Banaras Hindu University, as well as renowned domestic and international companies.


The opening program included a traditional Indian dance performance involving the audience, a joint performance using nature-inspired instruments, a wellness talk concert, congratulatory performances, an opening performance, and a walk along Goraebul Beach.


From October 3 to 6, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day, visitors can experience 105 types of global wellness medicine, including Korean medicine, Indian Ayurveda, and German Kneipp therapy. There are also opportunities to participate in wellness care activities such as meditation and yoga, shop for wellness food, beauty products, and goods at the food market, enjoy joint performances by Korean and Indian artists, and attend an Indian folk art invitational exhibition, offering a rich and diverse wellness culture and experience.


The most attention-grabbing program was the Korean medicine experience, where 107 Korean medicine specialists provided acupuncture, Chuna therapy, and pulse diagnosis. The next most popular was the Ayurveda experience, featuring 21 Ayurveda specialists from India, a rare opportunity even in India itself.


During the opening ceremony, Kim Kwangyeol, who participated in the Festa tour and the barefoot walk on Goraebul Beach, said, "I feel as if my accumulated fatigue and lingering stress have been swept away by the refreshing breeze." He added, "I hope this deep autumn, as you enjoy the natural wonders, will be an opportunity to fully restore your weary body and mind through traditional medical services from around the world, leading to a healthier and more vibrant life," actively encouraging participation in the festival.
