Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, delivering a greeting speech at the celebration event for the Month of the Path.
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the "28th Senior Citizens' Month Commemoration Ceremony and Senior Talent Contest" on the 2nd of October, gathering over 500 local senior citizens to celebrate Senior Citizens' Month.
Organized by the Korea Senior Citizens Association Jungnang-gu Branch, the event took place at the Jungnang-gu Office basement auditorium and consisted of awards for meritorious service and various performances directly participated in by the seniors.
In the first part, certificates of appreciation were awarded to 21 residents who have regularly volunteered with respect and care for the elderly, expressing gratitude for their dedication.
Following this, the second part featured a talent contest where seniors showcased their abundant talents and skills. Six teams of seniors performed on stage, demonstrating the skills they have honed over time and enjoying the event.
In addition to this event, throughout October, various senior festivals will continue in each neighborhood to honor local senior citizens during Senior Citizens' Month.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, "I hope that the diverse events prepared for Senior Citizens' Month in October will provide an opportunity to reflect on and express gratitude to the seniors around us. We will continue to carefully support our seniors so that they can enjoy a happy and healthy old age."
