The 'Dadok Dadok Festival,' Gyeonggi-do's representative cultural festival for reading, will be held at Anseong Matchum Land.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 4th that, in collaboration with Anseong City, it will hold the '2024 Gyeonggi Dadok Dadok Festival,' Gyeonggi-do's representative reading event, at Anseong Matchum Land on the 12th.
This year's event is themed 'Anseong Matchum Reading One-Day Market' and was planned to spread reading culture within the province and expand reading touchpoints in residents' daily lives.
The main programs include ▲ outdoor book picnic at the lawn plaza of Anseong Matchum Land ▲ Namsadang pungmul performance ▲ special lecture by author Kim Young-ha ▲ children's book talk ▲ reading MBTI experience booth, among others. Busking, bubble shows, and reading quizzes will also be held on the outdoor stage.
Additionally, there will be picture play with picture book author couple Lee Eok-bae and Jung Yoo-jung, and a lecture by author Kim Young-ha titled 'Why Do We Read Books,' delivering the value of reading to participants of all ages, from children to adults.
During the book talk session, children from Anseong City who have read a thousand books can share their reading experiences with each other. Visitors can also collect coin stickers by visiting experience booths within the event venue and exchange them for souvenirs.

Kang Hyun-seok, Director of the Future Lifelong Education Bureau of Gyeonggi-do, stated, "This year's 'Gyeonggi Dadok Dadok Festival' is expected to enrich the local reading culture even more, with participation from publishers, local bookstores, public libraries, and small libraries."
