Mayor Kim Dong-geun is delivering a greeting at the '2024 2nd Ganeung Night Snack Festival' held on the 1st. Gyeonggi Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 3rd that the "2024 2nd Ganeung Night Snack Festival" was successfully held over two days from the 1st to the 2nd at Ganeung Station Plaza and the Food Alley.
The Ganeung Night Snack Festival was first held last year to revitalize the commercial district around Ganeung Station, which had been stagnant compared to the floating population. This year, the festival was sponsored by the city and NH Nonghyup Uijeongbu Branch, and organized in cooperation with the Ganeung Merchants Association and the Uijeongbu City Commercial District Revitalization Foundation.
This year's festival incorporated citizens' feedback from last year to bring changes. The number of performance teams increased from 8 to 14, and the scale of commercial district revitalization events such as support for company dinner expenses and prize lotteries was expanded, actively reflecting citizens' preferences and opinions.
Additionally, about 30 night market stalls selling clothing and accessories were operated, and outdoor tables were provided to participating businesses, creating an atmosphere where citizens could freely browse and enjoy, attracting many visitors.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "I would like to thank all the citizens who visited the festival," and added, "We will continue to strive to further develop and revitalize the long-standing Ganeung Station commercial district."
