Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 2nd that the recent "Science High School Establishment Support Relay" confirmed the passionate support and interest of citizens regarding the establishment of a science high school.

This relay demonstrated the strong will and desire of the local community for the establishment of a new science high school, attracting voluntary participation from citizens across various sectors.

The first relay began on the 13th of last month, led by education-related organizations such as the Goyang City School Operation Association. Local parents and education experts gathered to hold an education policy meeting, raising awareness about the necessity of establishing a science high school and conducting a support performance for its establishment.

On September 28th, students from an elementary school history exploration club in the district participated in the second support relay. The students expressed their expectations for the science high school, saying, "We want to learn about the past through history and the future through science," and "It would be truly proud if a science high school is established in Goyang."

In particular, the students and parents who participated in the relay showed great enthusiasm, expressing their hope that Goyang City will become a center for science education.

A city official stated, "The enthusiastic support and backing from citizens are a great strength for the establishment of the science high school," adding, "Based on this, we will further concretize the plan to establish the science high school and strengthen Goyang City's educational competitiveness."
