The Uijeongbu City Commercial Area Revitalization Foundation (Chairman Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 2nd that the ‘Geumo Coexistence Festa,’ held on the 28th of last month to promote the importance of coexistence and cooperation among small business owners, large supermarkets, and companies and to revitalize the commercial district, concluded successfully.
The foundation focused on revitalizing the local commercial district and prepared the ‘Geumo Coexistence Festa’ through a governance formed by five parties: the Geumo Food Alley Merchants Association, established this year, the large supermarket Homeplus, local company Doshiwa Mirae, and the Uijeongbu Small Business Association.
This event operated the road in front of Homeplus Uijeongbu branch as a car-free street to revitalize the Geumo-dong commercial district and relieve citizens’ cultural thirst. Through various events such as commercial district revitalization events (payback event / roulette event), experience booths, stage performances, and prize drawings, it brought joy to about 10,000 citizens who visited the event venue on autumn weekend evenings.
In particular, the foundation created an opportunity to increase sales for Geumo Food Alley and Homeplus more than usual by providing chances to participate in commercial district revitalization events linked to the festival through receipt verification of purchases over 30,000 won in the Geumo-dong commercial district.
Kim Dong-geun, chairman of the foundation and mayor of Uijeongbu City, said, “I hope the Geumo Coexistence Festa will revitalize the Geumo-dong commercial district and empower small business owners, and we will strive to continuously hold events in the Geumo-dong commercial district in the future.”
Meanwhile, this festa was sponsored with donations and prizes by Doshiwa Mirae Co., Ltd., Homeplus Uijeongbu branch, and Uijeongbu Nonghyup Bank.
