Lee Sujeong: "Park Daeseong's statement that he doesn't remember is nonsense... The neck tattoo is intentional"

Lee Sujeong "Seems to have an antisocial fantasy"
"Tattoo on the neck? Intended to induce fear"

Park Daesung (30), who chased and killed a high school girl, stated, "I drank about four bottles of soju. I don't remember the details of the crime," but Professor Lee Sujeong of the Department of Criminal Psychology at Kyonggi University pointed out that this is "nonsense."

Professor Lee appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 2nd and said, "Because there were multiple attacks on the victim, it is difficult to see this as the act of someone who is unconscious or not aware of their actions," emphasizing this point.

Regarding the case, Professor Lee said, "At first, I thought it was a difficult case to interpret," adding, "Although there have been indiscriminate murders before, this case deviates somewhat from the typical murder case, so it required more careful analysis."

Lee Sujeong: "Park Daeseong's statement that he doesn't remember is nonsense... The neck tattoo is intentional" Jeonnam Police Agency disclosed the personal information, including the name, age, and photo, of Park Dae-seong (30), who was arrested on charges of murder for killing a teenage girl with a weapon on the streets of Suncheon without any particular reason, on the 30th. Earlier, Park Daesung was arrested by the police on charges of murder after stabbing Ms. A (18) multiple times with a weapon on the streets of Jorye-dong, Suncheon City, around 12:44 a.m. on the 26th of last month. After the crime, Park fled but wandered the streets in a drunken state, got into an argument with a passerby, and was arrested by police who responded to a report around 3 a.m., approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes after the incident.

Park Daesung, who runs a delivery food business, took a weapon from his store and went outside on the day of the incident. He chased Ms. A for about 800 meters and attacked her from behind, according to investigations. Additionally, CCTV footage showing Park fleeing barefoot about 13 minutes after killing Ms. A was released. The fact that Park was smiling at that time sparked public outrage.

Professor Lee analyzed Park Daesung as "someone who seemed to have antisocial fantasies." She explained the reason, saying, "Because of the expression of smiling when he seemed to take a brief breath after the crime," and added, "It can be interpreted as a smile expressing satisfaction, like 'I have achieved my goal.'"

Regarding Park Daesung's tattoos, she said, "He has scars on his face and tattoos on his neck. Generally, people do not get tattoos on the front of their neck." Professor Lee added, "Ultimately, it can only be read as an intention to instill fear in those who see it," and emphasized, "It is highly likely that he had a violent character before. We must definitely check what kinds of SNS and internet information he was exposed to right before this incident."

On Park Daesung targeting teenage females as victims, Professor Lee said, "The reason why women are disproportionately victims in indiscriminate murder cases is that people with weaker defenses are chosen," adding, "It does not have to be women; elderly people or children can also be victims of indiscriminate murder cases."

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency held a personal information disclosure review committee on the 30th of last month and decided to disclose Park Daesung's name, age, photo, and other details on the Jeonnam Police Agency website for 30 days. The committee judged that the conditions stipulated by the 'Serious Crime Personal Information Disclosure Act,' such as the brutality of the means, serious damage, the public's right to know, and prevention of recidivism, were met and decided to disclose the personal information. This is the first case in which the Jeonnam Police Agency has disclosed the personal information of a suspect in a heinous crime.
