Hanwha to Host 'Seoul World Fireworks Festival 2024'
On the weekend of the 5th, the Seoul International Fireworks Festival will be held at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul.
According to Hanwha Corporation on the 2nd, the 'Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2024' will begin at 7:20 PM on the 5th. This festival, organized by Hanwha Group as a social contribution activity since 2000, is a massive event attended by over one million people.
This year, under the theme "Light Up Your Dream," three countries?Korea, the United States, and Japan?will participate. The Japanese team (Hibikiya Omagari Fireworks), taking the first turn, will perform from 7:20 PM with the theme "The Hanabi." Following them, the U.S. team (Pyro Spectaculars) will present a show themed "California Dreaming."
The finale event by the Korean team will start at 8 PM. This year, Hanwha Corporation has chosen the theme "Flashlight," with the main message being "Our brightest moments shining like a flash." Notably, the Korean team will simultaneously launch the same fireworks not only between Wonhyo Bridge and Hangang Railway Bridge (in front of the 63 Building) but also between Wonhyo Bridge and Mapo Bridge. Spectators can enjoy multimedia fireworks displays featuring unique effects such as fireworks bursting into various shapes like letters, numbers, and hearts, color-changing fireworks, as well as special effects with lasers and lighting.
Starting from 1 PM on the day, Hanwha affiliates including Hanwha Life Insurance, Hanwha General Insurance, Hanwha Asset Management, and Carrot General Insurance will hold prize events at the Yeouido Hangang Park event plaza promotional booths as pre-events. Immediately after the fireworks festival, a "DJ After Party" will be held near the southern end of Wonhyo Bridge to help disperse the crowd heading home.
Additionally, Hanwha Corporation will deploy a total of about 3,400 safety management and order maintenance personnel, including 1,200 Hanwha employee volunteers. The Seoul Metropolitan Government will also focus on citizen safety through cooperation with related agencies such as the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and Seoul Fire & Disaster Headquarters.
Moreover, CCTV cameras will be installed in zones near the event site, the outskirts of Yeouido, Wonhyo Bridge, Mapo-dong, and Ichon-dong to monitor the situation in real time. A comprehensive control room will be established in collaboration with related agencies to enable prompt response. The smart app "Orange Safety," introduced last year, has been improved and will operate as a safety management system. It will measure crowd density in cooperation with telecommunications companies and monitor the deployment status of safety personnel to encourage crowd dispersion.
The event will be broadcast live on Hanwha Corporation’s official YouTube channel, "HanwhaTV." Around 260 national veterans and their families have also been invited to this year’s Seoul International Fireworks Festival.
