Smart Garden, Guro Garden Festa, Outdoor Library... Anyangcheon Ecological Flower Garden Open Until October 26

The '2024 Guro G Festival × SMART Garden Light Festival,' hosted by Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il), successfully concluded on September 29.

This festival was held extensively from the 27th to the 29th along the Anyangcheon Stream (around Gocheokgyo and Ogeumgyo bridges) across four zones (soccer field, swimming pool, inline skating rink, ecological flower garden). A total of 156,000 residents and tourists enjoyed various programs over three days centered on the themes of people, technology, and culture.

The festival began spectacularly on the 27th at 7 PM with an opening ceremony followed by a celebratory concert featuring popular singers such as Ailee, Ali, Jung Dong-ha, and Na Sang-do. On the 28th, there was an outdoor DJ show, and on the 29th, a nationwide TOP10 K-pop show special broadcast took place, culminating the festival with performances by popular artists including Park Ji-hyun, Kim Da-hyun, Park Seo-jin, Jo Hang-jo, and Hong Ja.

As Guro-gu’s representative festival, the program lineup stood out for enabling various generations to come together, and the performances were met with near sell-out crowds each time, creating a lively atmosphere.

In particular, the G-Robot·AI World offered participants a special opportunity to experience cutting-edge technology firsthand. Alongside robot and drone competitions, the stage demonstration of the giant robot ‘Titan’ drew great attention and awe from the audience. The AI painter robot’s real-time caricature drawing experience showcased the fusion of technology and art, leaving a deep impression on participants.

The ‘SMART Garden Light Festival,’ set up in the ecological flower garden near Ogeumgyo on Anyangcheon, began with a lighting ceremony on September 26 and continued with a large-scale outdoor exhibition using media fa?ades. Visitors were captivated by the visually stunning scenery. This zone, equipped with photo zones and experience spaces, was popular among family visitors and continuously attracted crowds.

The ‘Guro Garden Festa’ and ‘French Cultural Festival’ were also held alongside the ‘SMART Garden Light Festival.’ In addition to performances by French guest singers and popular domestic artists such as Bicycle Riding Scenery, Travel Sketch, and Zoo, various experience booths including garden experiences, French cultural experiences, and dessert booths delighted visitors’ eyes and palates.

The Guro Book Festival, held at the Anyangcheon water playground, was filled with programs offering humanistic reflections under the theme ‘Humanism 2.0.’ Lectures such as Professor Kim Kyung-il from Ajou University’s talk on ‘The Importance of Humans in the AI Era’ and the ‘Smart Family Reading Golden Bell’ received great responses from family visitors.

Additionally, the festival featured the Make Guro Art Market with participation from 50 local sites, the Guro Food Market with 27 resident autonomy committees and private organizations, a children’s theme park including 13 amusement rides such as a children’s zipline, and a regional specialty product exchange market involving 15 companies from 8 cities, completing a festival enjoyable for all ages.

This festival also gained attention as an environmentally conscious event. The Guro Carbon Zero Walking Event and the Guro Food Market’s use of eco-friendly reusable containers provided both environmental protection and festival enjoyment, receiving positive feedback from local residents.

We will continue to make various efforts so that Guro-gu can approach residents with an even more developed image in the future.”

The district will operate the ▲SMART Garden Light Festival ▲Guro Garden Festa ▲Outdoor library ‘Reading Guro’ with light, flowers, and books, established in the Anyangcheon ecological flower garden, until October 26.
