In the early morning of the same day, the Joint Chiefs stated, "Considering the wind direction, the balloon may move toward northern Gyeonggi Province and the Seoul metropolitan area," urging caution regarding falling payloads and advising not to touch any fallen balloons but to report them to the military or police.

On the 23rd of last month, the Joint Chiefs warned, "If North Korea's continuous trash balloons cause serious harm to the safety of our citizens or cross a line, the military will implement resolute military measures."
