On the 30th of last month, Seoul held a meeting between the heads of maintenance project associations and residents of the Gangbuk area at Seoul City Hall to communicate this, the city announced on the 2nd. Attendees included four reconstruction project sites (▲Sanggye 5 Complex ▲Seongdong Jangmi Apartment ▲Gwangjin Junggok Apartment ▲Mangu 1 District) and four redevelopment project sites (▲Seongsu Strategic Maintenance Zone District 1 ▲Bulgwang 5 District ▲Mia 11 District ▲Jangwi 10 District), totaling eight project sites. From the city, Yoo Chang-soo, Deputy Mayor for Administration 2, Kim Jang-soo, Director of Architectural Planning, and officials from three departments of the Housing Office attended.
The city listened to difficulties faced on the front lines and discussed measures to expedite the maintenance projects. The association heads and residents who attended requested the continued implementation of various floor area ratio relaxation policies and active support to resolve construction cost conflicts between associations and contractors. They also expressed opinions on the prompt progress of administrative procedures and simplification of approval processes.
Seoul emphasized, "There should no longer be issues where projects cannot progress due to excessive regulations as in the past," and stated, "We will spare no support to ensure that redevelopment and reconstruction in the Gangbuk area proceed swiftly." Furthermore, to promote rapid maintenance projects, the city promised to shorten approval periods through integrated reviews, dispatch maintenance project coordinators in case of conflicts, and hold frequent system improvement briefings. The city also urged associations to actively cooperate to harmoniously realize public interest and efficiency through maintenance projects.
This meeting was organized to share the project support measures and public support systems that Seoul has prepared so far with residents and to review additional areas requiring system improvements.
Deputy Mayor Yoo Chang-soo said, "This was an opportunity to reaffirm the residents’ determination to advance maintenance projects in the Gangbuk area and their expectations for Seoul’s policies," adding, "Since change in the Gangbuk area is essential for the city’s sustainable growth and balanced development, the city will not spare any administrative support it can provide."
