The representative of the Sajik residents stated that the Korean Medical Association (KMA) does not represent the position of the residents and said, "There is no change in the stance on next year's medical school quota."

Park Dan, chairman of the Emergency Response Committee of the Korean Intern Resident Association (KIRA), posted on his personal SNS on the 1st, saying this.

He firmly stated, "There is no change in the stance on the 2025 medical school quota," adding, "If the current policy is enforced, normal medical education will also become impossible."

He continued, "To emphasize again, KMA President Im Hyun-taek does not represent the positions of the Sajik residents and medical students on leave," and criticized, "I hope President Im refrains from speaking carelessly."

Earlier, the KMA held a briefing the day before and said, "If the collapse of medical education in 2025 is now unavoidable, please guarantee that reductions will be possible from 2026," proposing new conditions instead of canceling next year's medical school quota increase.
