Police Tracking Caller of Bomb Threat Phone Call
Police responded urgently after a bomb threat was reported at Children's Grand Park in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, but it is suspected to be a false alarm.
According to the police on the 1st, at around 8:20 PM the previous day, the Hwayang Police Substation of the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul received a report from an anonymous caller claiming that a bomb had been planted in Children's Grand Park. The police immediately evacuated citizens from the park and conducted a search operation.
After hours of searching that continued until dawn, no objects suspected to be explosives were found. Accordingly, the Gwangjin District Office reopened the park entrance around 9 AM the next day and urged citizens to report any suspicious objects immediately.
A police official stated, "The caller ID appears to have been manipulated, and it is highly likely to be a false report." The police are currently conducting further investigations into the incident.
