After Park's Personal Information Disclosure, Malicious Comments and Star Rating Attacks
Representative: "Unethical Behavior by Store Owner... Will Cooperate with Investigation"
As the personal information of Park Daesung (30), who brutally murdered a teenage girl walking down the street for no reason, was revealed, the franchise jjimdak restaurant he operated faced a barrage of 'review bombing,' and when the backlash spread to the headquarters, the CEO of the headquarters stepped forward to issue an apology.
On the 1st, an apology letter signed by CEO B was posted on the homepage of the A Jjimdak franchise headquarters. CEO B stated, "We deeply regret causing great concern due to the incident that occurred on the 26th of last month," and "We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family who are experiencing shock and great sorrow more than anyone else because of this incident." Park Daesung is suspected of chasing 17-year-old Ms. C for about 800 meters near a hospital in Jorye-dong, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do, around 12:44 a.m. on the 26th of last month, and fatally stabbing her with a weapon. After the crime, Park discarded the weapon and fled, wandering the streets and getting into an altercation with a passerby. Approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes later, around 3 a.m. on the same day, he was arrested by police who responded to a report. It was reported that Ms. C’s father had advised her to "be careful on the night road" during their last phone call, adding to the tragedy. Ms. C was known as an only daughter who recently passed the qualification exam and was preparing to become a police officer.

Park Daesung, who is known to have a history of violence, operated the A Jjimdak Suncheon branch in Jeollanam-do. Due to poor business, the store had been closed for two months, and he reportedly drank alcohol daily at the store. On the day of the incident, he was also drinking and left his store carrying a weapon. Park claimed to the police, "I broke up with my girlfriend, business was bad, and I drank about four bottles of soju. I do not remember the circumstances of the crime."
After Park Daesung’s identity was disclosed on the 30th of last month, netizens found the jjimdak restaurant he operated. Subsequently, the review board of the store was flooded with comments such as "A jjimdak restaurant run by a murderer," "A restaurant you should never visit," and "Murderer’s jjimdak restaurant," along with photos of Park’s face, and review bombing continued. Because of this, the franchise headquarters also faced backlash, causing a surge in website traffic that temporarily made the homepage inaccessible.
