Lecture by Veterinarian Seol Chaehyun on the 7th of this Month
Mobile Playground for Dogs Operating from the 12th
Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) has prepared various events in October and November to create a happy companion dog culture. On the 7th of this month, a lecture by veterinarian Seol Chae-hyun will be held, and from the 12th of this month, a traveling pet playground will operate three times.
The talk concert, held on the 7th of this month from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the lobby on the first floor of the district office main building, will be conducted under the theme "There is no problem-free dog in the world." Veterinarian Seol Chae-hyun, who appeared on "EBS There Are No Bad Dogs in the World" and has solved problems faced by companion dog families, will explain the causes of problematic behaviors and emotions of companion dogs. A Q&A session will be held after the lecture.
Anyone interested in pets can attend, and 200 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants can submit the application form by scanning the QR code on the promotional poster posted in the announcements section of the district office website. However, since it is an indoor lecture, bringing companion dogs is not allowed.
The traveling playground will be held on the 12th of this month at the small parking lot of Gangnam-gu Office (426 Hakdong-ro), on November 3rd at the multipurpose sports field of Gangnam Segok Sports Park, and on November 16th at the basketball court of Gaepo-dong Neighborhood Park (509 Gaepo-ro). The playground will be equipped with various agility facilities and photo zones where companion dogs can run and play. Various side events will also be held, including making companion dog badge ID tags and aroma insect repellents, pet etiquette education and behavior correction counseling, and a "Wait!" champion selection event.
The users eligible are registered medium and small dogs (with a height under 40cm) and large dogs (with a height of 40cm or more) that have completed rabies vaccination within one year. Operating hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM. From 10 AM to 1 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM, medium and small dogs (up to 50 dogs) can use the playground, and from 3 PM to 5 PM, large dogs (up to 15 dogs) can use it.
Residents who wish to use the playground must make an online reservation by the day before use. They can search for "Banhap (Together with Pets)" on the Kakao Channel and click the traveling playground application link or scan the QR code on the poster to fill out the application form. Before visiting, guardians must check the exact animal registration number of their companion dog and bring a rabies vaccination certificate on the day of the event. Mayor Jo Seong-myeong said, "This event will help guardians who are struggling with problematic behaviors of their companion dogs and will also be a good opportunity for families who want to spend enjoyable time with their dogs." He added, "As the number of pet households increases, we will continue to implement various policies so that residents can happily coexist with their pets."
