Village Communities and Social Economy Enterprises Gather in One Place for a Harmony Event
Rich Events Continue in Siheung-dong Area, Dense with Geumcheon’s Historical Culture and Ecological Resources
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the Byeoljanggil brand festival "Again: Heung-hara" in the Siheung 5-dong area for four days from October 3 to 6.
Starting with the "Community x Economy Festival & Byeoljanggil Ginkgo Festival," the events "Omiwon: Dyed with Light" and "King Jeongjo Royal Procession Event" will follow.
The Community x Economy Festival & Byeoljanggil Ginkgo Festival will be held on October 3-4 at the Ginkgo Tree Five-way Intersection and Byeoljanggil area, and the "Omiwon: Dyed with Light" event will take place on October 5 at Hoam Omi Ecological Park (Siheung Valley). Finally, the festival will conclude with the "King Jeongjo Royal Procession Event," starting from Geumcheon-gu Office and held around the Siheung 5-dong Community Service Center on October 6.
The "Community x Economy Festival & Byeoljanggil Ginkgo Festival" was prepared to activate the local economy by forming various communities centered on residents, promoted jointly by village communities and social economy enterprises.
The festival consists of ▲ promotional, experiential, and sales booths for social economy enterprises and village community organizations ▲ resident participation performances ▲ local brand proclamation ceremony ▲ night market ▲ events with residents.
Stages will be set up at two locations, the Ginkgo Tree and Byeoljanggil, where cultural events such as performances and singing contests will take place. In addition to the stages, various events, sales (markets), and experience booths will be arranged throughout the Ginkgo Tree and Byeoljanggil areas, allowing visitors to enjoy a rich program. The night market will also sell various foods to add vitality to the festival.
The "Omiwon: Dyed with Light" event will be held on the 5th from 3 PM to 9 PM. It was organized to raise awareness and appreciation of ecological resources among residents by utilizing local ecological assets.
Ecological experiences include ▲ making mandalas in the forest ▲ night forest walk called "Night Walk: Forest Dyed with Light" ▲ forest meditation. The cultural and artistic programs, prepared as a healing concert and OST concert, are expected to provide enjoyment to participants.
The "King Jeongjo Royal Procession Event" on the 6th will reenact the large-scale procession King Jeongjo undertook to celebrate his mother Lady Hyegyeonggung Hong’s 60th birthday and to visit the tomb of his father Crown Prince Sado.
Along with this, various attractions such as performances, historical lectures, and situational plays, as well as various experiential programs and food markets, will be prepared in a colorful manner.
Meanwhile, due to the installation of stages and experience booths, partial road closures are planned from 9 AM to 9 PM on October 3 at the Ginkgo Tree Road 45 area (Ginkgo Tree Five-way Intersection) and from 9 AM on October 3 to 8 PM on October 4 at Geumha-ro 24-gil area (Byeoljanggil).
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We have prepared the festival so that residents can experience and enjoy the historical culture and ecological resources connecting Hoam Omi Ecological Park, Byeoljanggil, and Ginkgo Tree Road together," adding, "We have prepared various performances, events, and foods over four days, so we hope many residents participate to make the festival even more abundant."
